I'm new-ish to using trekking poles and still sussing out what works best for me. I've found that carbon Fiber poles work best as they offer feedback up my arms that doesn't end up hurting but does give me a solid connection to the ground. I don't know how to explain it better than that.
These poles feel great both in terms of shock absorption and the handle grips. I use them for walking in the city most of the time and also take them on nature walks or rare hikes. It helps keep more of my body active in motion.
I've never had a problem with the flip locks not being tight enough, even when using them to leverage myself up or assisting in climbing rocks. I was worried that these wouldn't be as sturdy as the models where a ball/knob keeps the poles at size.
I'm 5'11" and was able to find the perfect height no problem and have not had to adjust the size since.
They seem a good value for the price and I recommend them.
